Cooler overnight temperatures and light winds let crews hold the eastern flank. The fire is 120 acres and 40% contained. The pre-evacuation notice for Zones 3 and 5 stays in place through today. Example Gulch Road remains closed to non-residents. Next update by 18:00 unless conditions change.

The previous update named the wrong zone. The pre-evacuation notice covers Zones 3 and 5. Zone 4 is not affected. We are sorry for the confusion.

The fire is estimated at 60 acres with no containment. Zones 3 and 4 are now under a pre-evacuation notice: be ready to leave at short notice, and take your go-bag, medications and pets with you if you decide to leave early. Zone boundaries are on the linked map. If you are not sure which zone you are in, assume the more cautious one.

Crews are responding to a reported wildfire on the north side of Example Gulch Road, roughly two miles west of Sample Flats. Size is not yet established. There is no evacuation order at this time. Please stay off Example Gulch Road so apparatus can get through.
